Queen of Diamonds Fuzz
Queen of Diamonds Fuzz
The Bumble Buzz (and the vintage Kay Fuzz Tone circuit it's rooted in) is one of the most distinctive octave-fuzzes ever built. It’s wild, heavily gated, and spitting with harmonic artifacts. But the biggest hurdle with that circuit has always been control. Running a pedal with zero external knobs means you are completely locked into one fixed volume and one preset EQ profile, which rarely plays nice with every guitar and amp pairing. It's a bold design choice meant to drive creativity, but we've always wondered if there was something else lurking in that circuit.
For the Queen of Diamonds, we kept that exact same chaotic, spitting fuzz engine but gave you the keys to drive it. By adding dedicated Volume and Mids controls, we unlocked the circuit's full potential without stripping away its aggressive, old-school soul. You still get that signature vintage tracking and tearing-speaker vibe, but now you can actually level-match it to your rig and dictate exactly how it sits in a live mix.
It’s an unapologetic fuzz that finally behaves itself on a modern pedalboard.
The Controls
-
Vol: Controls the overall output. The original circuit runs wide open and can easily overwhelm your signal chain. This control lets you dial it back to unity gain or blast the front end of your amp.
-
Mid: Vintage octave-fuzzes are famously scooped in the midrange, which can cause them to instantly disappear the second a drummer and bass player kick in. This control lets you push those crucial midrange frequencies back into the signal to cut through a dense band mix, or sweep it backward for that classic, hollowed-out garage rock spit.
